The second round of the 2013 British Touring Car Championship took place at Donington Park at the weekend and three cars prepared by Tony Gilham Racing for Team HARD were in action – including the VW Passat CC driven by Tom Onslow-Cole.
All Team HARD drivers performed inflatable tent extremely well considering the cars are still relatively un-tested. Jack Goff, James Cole and Tom Onslow-Cole gave the big budget teams a run for their money – with Tom securing the team’s best result so far – sixth in the last of the three races.
During that race Onslow-Cole found himself fending off strong competition from former BTCC champions Matt Neal and Jason Plato before finally being passed towards the end of the race due to degradation – something we seem to hear more and more about in motorsport nowadays.
Looking resplendant in its new Rockstar Energy Drinks livery, the VW Passat CC is widely regarded as the best looking car on the grid and never fails to attract admiring glances from all in the paddock and grandstands.
Good luck to all drivers at the next meeting at Thruxton in hampshire.
